Why one flight costs $93 and the next one costs $695
Destination, ground time and transfers. The aircraft is the same.
Three things set the price, and only the first is obvious.
Where it goes. This is the big one and it is not a matter of degree. A Strip flight is eleven to fifteen minutes over a city; a canyon flight is a four-hundred-kilometre round trip into Arizona. Everything between $93 and $103 is the first thing; everything from $329 up is the second.
Whether it lands, and for how long. Among the canyon flights, the flying is almost identical. What you pay more for is the landing on the floor, the champagne, the time at the rim, the Skywalk. The difference between $470 and $695 is about two hours on the ground and a second landing — not a longer or better flight.
Whether transfers are included. The cheapest Strip flights leave you to reach the terminal yourself. The ones ten dollars dearer collect you from your hotel. That difference is an hour of your evening and a taxi each way, and it almost never shows up in a price comparison.
